For those who remember, I started to get serious about Watercolor painting when I moved to this little 550 square foot beach front apartment on Alki Beach in West Seattle. The year was '2000. This tiny bungalow was the perfect inspirational setting to settle into what has become my passion....painting boats and capturing the lifestyle around boating in the Pacific Northwest.

The Studio was ideal for introducing my early work to the local Alki community and soon I became recognized, selling my work right out of the front window of the apartment. Too easy!

As luck would have it, the next summer a local developer had purchased a vacant lot only a block away from the studio. He decided to use the empty space for a weekend Art Fair. Perfect! With that, I so invested in a 10' x 10' pop up tent, bought some easel stands and had a banner made up! Suddenly I was in the Art Biz!

So this became my signature "Road Show". Pretty simple! I lived in that tiny studio for 12 years before I decided to be a home owner again and purchased a "Fixer" up the hill from the beach. In those 12 years I was able to generate a nice following, and my work was featured in a local gallery, "Alki Arts", as well as I was invited to show in several local restaurants and pubs in the Puget Sound area. I was also a featured artist at the popular Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival for several years. Oh.....If you have not been to the P.T. Wooden Boat Festival. . . . .GO!
In 2002 I purchased a 15 passenger van, which I converted to a camper, and drove to Nova Scotia in the fall to capture the boating scene on the Atlantic Coast. Epic trip! More on that to follow.

Today, I dedicated an extra room on my "fixer upper" house, now completely remodeled. I am looking forward to retiring soon from the "Day Job" as a graphic designer, so that I can return to my true passion....painting in Watercolor.
I hope you enjoy my work and I look forward to reuniting with my patrons, and sharing my work with new friends. Thank you!
Yep! . . . Always been a Boat Guy!
I grew up with boats, both on the waters of Puget Sound and the East Coast- Plymouth, Salem, Boston Harbor and Woods Hole. Boating has been a "love" since I can remember. I have owned 3 sail boats, and have sailed extensively throughout the local islands and hidden coves of Seattle, San Juan Islands, and through the inside passage in Canadian waters. These days I travel south to Mexico to sail the mainland coast, Sea of Cortez and Baja Peninsula.
